Adlene Feury's love of teaching is clear when she describes her job and why she chose to become a teacher. Adlene loves teaching 2nd grade at Lott Carey School and working with children. She's been a teacher there for six years. She says that what she loves most about teaching is when her students finally understand what she's explaining to them. Watching students' eyes light up with understanding is a universal desire for any teacher. Something she finds most challenging is locating books and materials at times, so she can better work with the children. Adlene is 28 years old, is not married, and resides with her sister. She asks for prayers for her well being and good economics.

Enithe Rodrigue is from Leogane, Haiti and has been a cook at Lott Carey School for three years. She has five children; four boys and one girl. Enithe grew up on a farm near Leogane. She lives with her husband and one of her children. Prior to taking the cook position at Lott Carey, Enithe was a merchant. That line of work was challenging, and she didn't have enough money to continue selling items at the market. She is enjoying her job cooking for children at the school, and like serving them in this way. She does struggle with the heavy pots and pans, which can be problematic at times. Enithe asks for prayers that her children finish school and for strength to continue working to help them. Donations to our general fund help pay for daily meals for students and to pay staff at the school. All donations are welcome!

Starting school is such a right of passage, no matter where you are in the world. Lott Carey School is filled with preschool age children who are full of energy and eager to learn. Ms. Exilas Sirilia is an experienced teacher with over ten years of experience. She has been teaching preschool at Lott Carey for the past two years. Her classroom is PS3, which are 5 year olds, who have likely been in preschool for a couple years. Ms. Sirilia is 34 years old and resides with her mother and brother in Leogane. She is unmarried without children, and absolutely loves teaching. Originally from the island of Lagonave, Ms. Sirilia says she decided to become a teacher to help others learn. When she's not teaching she enjoys reading, writing, and learning languages. She is currently studying Spanish, and has an amazing optimism. She finds nothing challenging about teaching, because her love of what she does exceeds anything that may arise. She does ask for prayers for good health; it's important to her, and she struggles with getting sick. Thank you Ms. Sirilia for your dedication to teaching students at Lott Carey. Donations to our general fund help us deliver supplies such as paper, pencils, and other items teachers identify are needed.
