Benson is the school nurse for the Lott Carey School. He grew up in St. Louis du Nord in the north part of the country. He lost his mom in 1996, and his dad in 1992. A friend of the family (Dr. Pierre Alcindor) knew about Benson and would meet with him throughout high school while he was living with some relatives. As Dr. Alcindor watched Benson study hard, he recommended that he give FSIL Nursing School in Leogane a try. After a year of general college work, Benson went to FSIL for nursing.
He finished FSIL in 2017 and worked as a dental intern and a school nurse. Today he translates for American nurses and church teams and continues to serve over 300 children at that Lott Carey School. He also tutors children in school and teaches them computer skills.
He very much enjoys helping others and especially providing nursing care for the children. He helps Haiti Kids School with taking pictures and collecting stories on them for their sponsors.
Benson will be starting his Masters degree as a Nurse Practitioner in spring of 2021. He is excited as he feels this will give him more skills to help the children, his community and Haiti.
Benson is engaged to Rose, and they are to be married in August of 2021. They will live in Leogane after being married.
The Haiti Kids School team appreciates all that Benson does for the children and families at Lott Carey School!
