Cooking for Students at Lott Carey School

April 21, 2021

Serving up hot meals everyday at school

Sultane Leo is one of the cooks at Lott Carey School. She has been cooking up school lunches of rice, beans, sauce, and noodles for three years. Sultane lives at home with three of her four children. Her youngest son is Nescaty. He's 13 years old and is in the 6th grade at Lott Carey. Nescaty wants to grow up and be a doctor. He enjoys math, and when he is not in school or studying, he likes to play futbol (soccer).

Sultane loves serving the children through her job. She struggles with how large and heavy the pots are while cooking, but enjoys her work. She was born in Leogane. Her parents were farmers; growing corn, plantains, and beans.

She asks tha we pray fro her to stay healthy and for her son to keep studying and work hard in school. Thank you, Sultane, for your hard work and dedication to the students each and every day!
