Haiti Kids School

Update on the Situation in Haiti

So many people love, support, and pray for our friends in Haiti, and Haiti Kids School has a special place in our hearts. As you may be aware, the crisis in Haiti is worsening and the governor has recently announced that in the interest of safety, there will be no school until January. The wide-spread protests have made it difficult for Haitians to resume normal daily life like finding food, walking for water, making an income, and traveling; both for safety and fuel shortage reasons.

What does this mean for our students, staff, and their families at Haiti Kids School? Now more than ever we want to thank everyone who sponsors a student, as well as others who donate to the school. Together we will rally for the support and help that they need right now and in the months to come. Thanks to your generosity we were able to get emergency food funds to Pastor Saul to get to some families, as well as provide income for teachers and staff who are out of work. A support team is assembling and will be doing home safety checks on as many students and their families as possible, starting in a day or two. Food and supplies will accompany the visit. Please know that we are staying in close contact with Pastor Saul and Benson, our school nurse, so we can continue to respond and support them as quickly as possible.

If you or someone you know may be moved to make an emergency donation, please indicate in the memo field of the check. Checks to: Haiti Kids School, 4412 Games Trail, Minnetrista, MN 55375
